What is a Meniscus Tear?

A bulging disc in the neck occurs when a disc in the upper, or cervical, spine is damaged and weakened to the point that it protrudes outward.

This protrusion is caused by continual pressure from the surrounding vertebrae pressing down on the disc in between the vertebrae and causing it to expand beyond the normal parameters of the spine. Symptoms of Runners Knee

What is Runners Knee?

Runners knee – an aching pain around the kneecap that is not just for runners. Any activity that causes you to bend your knees a lot, like walking, biking, and jumping, can cause runner’s knee .

Runner’s knee isn’t a specific injury. It’s a broad term that describes the pain you feel if you have one of several knee problems. For example, chondromalacia patella, a condition in which the cartilage under the kneecap breaks down, can lead to runner’s knee symptoms.

Runner’s knee can happen for several reasons:

Overuse. If you do a lot of repeated bending or high-stress exercises, such as lunges or plyometrics, they can irritate your knee joint.
A direct hit to the knee, like from a fall or blow.

Your bones aren’t lined up (called malalignment). If any of the bones from your hips to your ankles are out of their correct position, including the kneecap itself, that can put too much pressure on certain spots in the joint. Then your kneecap won’t move smoothly, which can cause pain.

Problems with your feet, such as hypermobile feet (when the joints in and around the feet move more than they should), fallen arches (flat feet), or overpronation. They may change the way you walk, which can cause knee pain.

Weak or unbalanced thigh muscles.The quadriceps muscles in the front of your thigh keep your kneecap in place when you bend or stretch the joint. If they’re weak or tight, your kneecap may not stay in the right spot.

It’s not just for runners. Anyone who spends time doing things that make you bend your knees a lot, like walking, biking, and jumping, can get runner’s knee, an aching pain around the kneecap. It’s also called patellofemoral pain syndrome.

The main symptom you’ll notice is pain. It can happen:

In front, behind, or around your kneecap
When you bend your knee, such as when you walk, squat, kneel, run, or even get up from a chair
When you walk downstairs or downhill

What Is Hip Osteoarthritis?

Hip osteoarthritis occurs when inflammation and injury to a joint cause a breaking down of cartilage tissue. In turn, that breakdown causes pain, swelling, and deformity.  The primary function of cartilage is to reduce friction in the joints and serve as a “shock absorber.” The shock-absorbing quality of normal cartilage comes from its ability to change shape when compressed. It can do this because of its high water content.

Symptoms of Hip Osteoarthritis:

The most common symptoms of hip osteoarthritis are hip pain and decreased range of motion. Hip osteoarthritis often progresses gradually and many sufferers may try to ignore the signs until daily activities are affected.

Patients who have osteoarthritis of the hip sometimes have problems walking. Many people experience pain in the side or back of the hip when the hip bears weight. This pain may radiate down the thigh and even cause pain in the knee. Diagnosis can be difficult at first because pain can appear in different locations including the groin, thigh, buttocks, or knee. The pain can be stabbing and sharp or it can be a dull ache, and the hip is often stiff.

The causes of osteoarthritis of the hip are not known. Some factors that may contribute to it include; joint injury, increasing age, and being overweight.

Treat Scar Tissue Pain with Prolozone Therapy

Scar tissue affects every part of your body including your organs, muscles and connective tissue. Scar tissue forms when the body undergoes trauma or inflammation of your cells and tissue. In some cases, scar tissues link together to form an adhesion, which is a band of scar tissue. The adhesion connects two internal parts, which may restrict movement or hinder things like organs from performing their intended functions. Patellar tendonitis is a common injury or inflammation of the tendon that connects your kneecap (patella) to your shinbone (tibia). Your pain may be mild or severe with Patellar tendonitis.

Though anyone can get it,  it’s a frequent injury among athletes, especially those who play volleyball and basketball, and is called jumper’s knee. Among recreational volleyball players, an estimated 14.4 percent have jumper’s knee. The prevalence is even higher for top professional athletes. Patellar tendonitis comes from repetitive stress on the knee, most often from overuse in sports or exercise. The repetitive stress on the knee creates tiny tears in the tendon that, over time, inflame and weaken the tendon.

Factors that contribute to this can be:

  • tight leg muscles
  • uneven leg muscle strength
  • misaligned feet, ankles, and legs
  • obesity
  • shoes without enough padding
  • hard playing surfaces
  • chronic diseases that weaken the tendon
  • Athletes are more at risk because running, jumping, and squatting put more force on the patellar tendon. (For example, running can put a force of up to five times your body weight on your knees.)
  • Long periods of intense sports training are associated with jumper’s knee.

Pain and tenderness at the base of your kneecap are usually the first symptoms of patellar tendonitis. You may also have some swelling and a burning feeling in the kneecap. Kneeling down or getting up from a squat can be especially painful.

The pain may at first be sporadic, occurring only after sports or exercise activity. As the tendon becomes more damaged, the pain can become progressively worse. It can interfere with any athletic activity, as well as with daily activities, such as climbing stairs or sitting in a car.
